Rome – Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering, Sapienza University of Rome, Sangallo Renaissance Cloister - Via Eudossiana, 18
On September 15 and 17, as part of NanoInnovation 2025, the Italian conference dedicated to nanotechnologies, and in collaboration with Rome Future Week, two events will present the new iENTRANCE infrastructure. iENTRANCE is dedicated to cutting-edge research in the field of material science and technology and is designed to accelerate innovation in strategic areas such as the energy transition and environmental sustainability.
iENTRANCE stems from the project “Infrastructure for ENergy TRAnsition and Circular Economy”, coordinated by the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), and falls within the PNRR action area, funded with over 70 million euros. The iENTRANCE partners are: the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), which leads the project through coordinator Vittorio Morandi (Director of the Institute for the Study of Nanostructured Materials at CNR), INRiM (National Institute of Metrological Research), Sapienza University of Rome, Politecnico di Torino, the University of Bologna, and Roma Tre University.
September 15 – iENTRANCE: An Open Infrastructure for New Pathways of Advanced Research and Innovation
This session will be dedicated to the official presentation of the iENTRANCE infrastructure and its potential. Coordinator Vittorio Morandi (Director of CNR-ISMN and President of the CNR Research Area in Bologna), together with moderator Massimo Sideri (Columnist at Corriere della Sera and lecturer at Luiss), will guide the proceedings.
The program includes an overview of iENTRANCE’s technological core and access procedures for service beneficiaries; a roundtable with representatives from academia, industry, and institutions; and an open debate on the future perspectives of research infrastructures in Italy and Europe.
